Things To Do In Cornwall In Winter: Discover The Coast When It’s Unmistakably Yours
There are endless things to do in Cornwall in winter, but nothing reveals the county's true character quite like the raw, dramatic...
Welcome to Trevose — a family-owned golf and lifestyle resort on the north Cornwall coast, proudly celebrating 100 years in 2025.
Home to one of the UK’s top links courses, Trevose blends championship golf with relaxed coastal living. Set against the backdrop of the Atlantic, our resort features three unique golf courses, contemporary accommodation, ocean-view dining, and a growing range of wellness, sport, and family-friendly amenities.
Whether you’re here to stay, play, dine — or simply slow down — Trevose offers space to breathe, connect, and enjoy the best of Cornwall in one unforgettable setting.
Over the past century, Trevose has grown from humble beginnings into the iconic destination it is today — a place where championship golf, coastal living, and timeless hospitality come together. This is the story of its journey.
Trevose Golf Club opened in 1925 with its Championship Course designed by the legendary Harry S. Colt. Set against the dramatic North Cornwall coastline, the course quickly drew attention for its pure links challenge and natural beauty. In 1941, member John C. Gammon acquired the club, laying the groundwork for one of the world’s few family-owned golf resorts. His passion for golf and hospitality would come to shape everything that followed.
With John Gammon as sole owner from 1955, Trevose entered a golden era defined by family values and warm, coastal hospitality. More than just a golf course, it became a retreat for those seeking a relaxed, high-quality experience. Under John’s leadership, Trevose quietly built a loyal following, setting the tone for the generations to come.
In the early 1960s, John’s son, Peter Gammon, began to steer Trevose into its next chapter. The introduction of the Headland and Short Courses opened the doors to players of all levels, while ongoing improvements modernised the facilities without compromising the original Colt layout. Trevose was becoming a true golf destination — expansive, inclusive, and thoughtfully evolving.
As Trevose’s reputation grew, so did its ambition. The resort expanded its accommodation and embraced a more modern guest experience. Careful enhancements preserved the Championship Course’s integrity while elevating its condition and play. National events like the Brabazon Trophy put Trevose on the map, and the club’s distinct blend of tradition and innovation began to define its identity.
As Trevose enters its second century, it’s evolving into more than a golf destination — it’s becoming a way of life. Under Nick Gammon’s leadership, a new era of wellness, sustainability, and lifestyle-led experiences is taking shape.
From eco-lodges and a wellness gym to modern dining and digital upgrades, everything is designed for the next generation of members and guests. Trevose is no longer just a place to play — it’s a place to belong, to breathe, and to return to. A sanctuary for modern living on the edge of the Atlantic.
At Trevose, giving back is part of our DNA. We support the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow, RNLI, Cornwall Air Ambulance, and local causes through year-round fundraising and events.
Our 2025 Captain’s Charity is Dementia UK, and recent projects include funding a beach wheelchair at Treyarnon with Paralympian Hannah Dines — helping make the coast accessible to all.
