A feature this series was out of an average of over 65 players per week, 21 individual players won one of the weekly rounds. However, McMahon was the only player to win twice, scoring his 56 total in only 8 rounds, with two wins, two seconds, two thirds, a fifth, a seventh and a tenth place finish saw him at the top of the league table.

In comparison, Gammon was the only player in the field to score in each of the ten qualifying rounds. He did not win one of the weekly events and his score reflected one second, a third, a fourth, two fifths, a sixth, two sevenths, an eighth and a tenth place finish, which enabled him to finish four ahead of Oliver and eleven ahead of Wood.

Mike Derry took first place in the Eclectic competition, in which each player’s best scores are recorded on every hole, half handicap applying. He scored 51 strokes over 18 holes followed by George Rumbold on 51.50, with Trevor Ashton third on 52.00 and Mark Durnall and Nick Gammon tied on 52.50.

The Harlyn Horn, awarded by Geoff French last year’s club Captain for a full handicap eclectic,  Clive Thomas took first place on 47 strokes over 18 holes followed by Nick Prior in a tie with Johnny Cowling third and Neil Vivian fourth, all players on 48 strokes.

Mac McMahon is the overall winner of the Harlyn Cup at Trevose with 56 league points, and is this season’s champion and holder of the trophy for 2014/15. In second place was Nick Gammon on 53 points, followed by Ross Oliver on 49 points, with Chris Wood in fourth place on 42 points. The series, originated by members Gordon Dakin and Steve Rushworth in 1982 and sponsored by OceanBMW, was played over 28 weeks with players competing for league points over their best ten rounds, 10 for first place, down to 1 point for tenth place.
