We are delighted to announce, somewhat belatedly (!), that Gemma Marsland has joined Gary’s dream team in the Pro Shop! Gemma has already been with us for a couple of months, following the departure of Holly.

Gemma was born in Cornwall and introduced to golf by her father at the age of 9.

Newquay GC was her home club, where she has been a member for 10 years – including a stint in the Professional shop for the past couple of years.

As well as playing golf for the Newquay Ladies first team since she was 14, she has played golf for Cornwall at Junior County level and for the County Ladies ‘B’ and first teams.

She won the Cornwall girls under 15 salver in 2013 and, in the same year, helped the County Girls win the South West Championships.

Still as a junior, she was part of the County Ladies ‘B’ team that won the South West Team Finals in 2016. In this successful year, Gemma was appointed U18’s County Girls Captain when she also reached the semi-finals of the ladies County Championships. This led to her being chosen to play for the Cornwall Ladies team in the South West Championships in Wiltshire.

Away from work, she achieved a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science at Truro College. Gemma was also chosen to represent the College in the National Finals in Scotland.

On behalf of everyone at Trevose we are delighted to welcome Gemma to the team and please pop in to the shop to say hello when you’re next at the Club.
