Trevose has once again been crowned CTC Champions, following a hard fought victory at Newquay GC against a very strong St Enodoc team.

In what was always going to be a tough encounter the morning Foursomes kicked off at 08.00hrs in cold, windy conditions with little respite provided by the weather gods throughout the day. After a see saw morning St Enodoc went into lunch with a slender 2-2.75 pts lead with all to play for in the afternoon singles.

With bodies and minds recharged, Trevose were led out after lunch by Graham Webb who made a stirling come back to secure the first point and build some early momentum for the team. This was followed by four more impressive victories as Trevose opened up a decent lead. However, as expected, St Enodoc came back strongly taking the next three games, meaning it was all down to the final game. A magnificent, nerveless, win for Joe Reynard secured the title for Trevose and with it the Club will now go on to represent Cornwall in the England Golf Champion Club Final in the autumn.

Our thanks to Newquay GC for hosting the Final and to St Enodoc for yet another absorbing contest. A great result against a great team.
